Synopsis :Minister for Foreign Affairs S Rajaratnam continues his speech on his personal survey of the region's landscape.
Here he looks at the government, highlighting that as leaders they make decisions, even unpopular ones, based on the principle of their benefiting the majority of the people.
He then talks about the professional men, the attitude of this group of logical and intellectual people who in the main 'say politics the government can manage and produce results' thus leaving them to 'continue making money'. But he stresses if they can 'evaluate government decisions' then 'personal welfare should not be at the expense of public welfare'.
He urges the professional men to be 'prepared to subordinate their personal interest to support this society... if they believe this society is better'.
