Synopsis :UN Association of Singapore (UNAS) hosts a dinner to celebrate the 30th United Nations Day.
In his address at the dinner, Minister for Foreign Affairs S Rajaratnam says the 'balance sheet of the performance of the United Nations' is not too bad. But if a German magazine considers the UN a failure then the fault lies with the 131 countries which make up the UN for not understanding the 'nature of a wonderful instrument place in their hands'
