Synopsis :This is a recording of a radio report on the installation of the new Chancellor of the University of Singapore, Inche Yusof bin Ishak, the Yang di-Pertuan Negara. He replaces Dato Lee Kong Chian, the retiring Chancellor, who is conferred an honorary degree during the Ceremony which takes place at the Victoria Theatre.
In his address as the new Chancellor of the University, Inche Yusof bin Ishak speaks on the role of the University in a young developing country like Singapore.
Professor Lim Kok Ann presents the honorary graduand, Dato Lee Kong Chian, and reads out a citation for the conferment of an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters on him.
