  • Synopsis :

This is a recording of an interview with Australian author and historian, Geoffrey Dutton, on the 4 photographs featured in his book, Impressions of Singapore. Mr Dutton talks of how the photographs depict the rhythm of life in Singapore - how the old is in close physical proximity to the new in a continuous juxtaposition that connects the different parts of Singapore into a whole. He elaborates further on each photograph – one of a lighterman rowing against the skyline of Shenton Way, another of a lady-seller in Chinatown, and another of the Armenian Church.
