Synopsis :Minister for Foreign Affairs S Rajaratnam is interviewed by Sunny Menon when he is in Kuala Lumpur to attend the 8th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on 13-15 May 1975.
The questions put to Minister include: his opinion of ASEAN Ministerial Committee, Singapore's stand on wanting to have big powers in region while the other members are not in favour, great power presence in terms of economics rather than military presence, possible progress in economic and cultural development with institutionalisation of ASEAN, willingness to forego some of own national pride to sacrifice for long-term regional interest., Treaty of Amity and Friendship, new situation considered as period of opportunities for ASEAN.
