  • Synopsis :

    This is a recording of the continuation of a talk delivered by a representative from the National Theatre Trust at a forum on A New Cultural and Recreational Environment for Singapore.  He elaborates on the objectives of the National Theatre Trust and the Singapore Arts Council. In his talk, he touches on:
    - Why the National Theatre Company insist on standards and future plans of the company;
    - Dissemination of culture to the people in the street;
    - Formation of National Theatre Club;
    - Plans to build a National Arts Gallery;
    - The need for audience support to improve the culture scene;
    - The promotion of culture in activities of People's Association community centres.

    A question-and-answer session is held at the end of the forum.
