Synopsis :The Chairman of the Governing Council, Richard Eu, says this meeting marks the transition from the establishment stage of SIM to the next stage where it becomes a fully operative institute. Launching the membership drive, Mr Eu says all who enrol now will become founder members of SIM.
The Minister for Finance, Lim Kim San, commends SIM for making itself known among the business community in just over a year of its existence. Mr Lim observes a growing realisation that a formal training in business management is necessary for success. He admits that no attention was paid to this area, as emphasis was placed on the better-known professions such as teaching, medicine and engineering.
