  • Synopsis :

This is a recording of speeches made before Minister for Finance Dr Goh Keng Swee opens the Malaysia Nails Manufacturer Company.

The first speaker, the Company's Manager Tan Soon Kian (sic) describes the capabilities of the new factory. He also expresses the company's confidence in the government's economic policies. Mr Tan's speech in Chinese is translated into English by the MC. This is followed by a speech (in Chinese, English) by Dr Goh. He gives a brief history of Tan Soon Seng Limited, the parent company. He also commends the 'progressive and pioneering' spirit of the company's management for venturing into uncharted waters and that it could be  an example to other industrialists.
