Synopsis :This programme is the second in a series of four talks on the Common Market. It looks at the ways and means of expanding markets for Singapore manufactured products. One way to increase local manufacturers' share on domestic market is to impose protective tariff duties on imported products. Another is to expand market by setting up common market in Malaysia with common tariffs against external countries. This will give Singapore manufactured products a market of 10 million people.
