  • Synopsis :

    Minister for Home Affairs Ong Pang Boon begins his Talk on 'Democracy in Action' saying that the 'security organs of a state' are of vital importance in an era of social revolutions and unrest. He focuses on the new role of the police force in the internal self-governing state of Singapore under PAP leadership which will infuse in the police a new spirit of service to the state and the people. The new government also reorganises and strengthens the CID to wage especially war against the secret societies  'thugs'. The objective of the government is to mobilise people into a greater understanding of the government's work. The recording is broadcast over Radio Channel I (English).
