  • Synopsis :

Synopsis taken from The Straits Times 13 August 1982, Page 14:

Singapore's past is depicted as an essay of the Singapore River and the history woven around it. The film traces the arrival of the early immigrants, the Chinese and the Muslim traders and the multi-racial settlement that followed. It tries to recreate the plight of the immigrants who came as single men in search of work.
