  • Synopsis :

    The 16mm film is not a packaged production but contains filming of several aspects of farming -    There is no audio. Details of the footages are as follows:
    1) Vegetable Farm:
    a) Chilly plants; table on foreign trade for chillies for January-July 1963; Singapore map showing six villages growing chillies;
    b) Big leaf vegetables,
    b) Map of Singapore - 5 names for farming;
    c) Plots with vegetables or some empty;
    d) Names - Lee Brother's Farm (Jurong); Neo Kim Keok Farm (Lim Chu Kang); Chin Hup Heng Farm Lim Chu Kang);
    e) Spraying vegetables with long handle sprayer, operates like bicycle pump;

    c) Big trees with branches spread out, low trees planted spaced out;

    e) Palm trees grown far apart;
    5) Tobacco Culture:
    a) Name - Tobacco Culture;
    b) Tobacco plants;
    6) Swamp area and vegetation; narrow strip of water with green fields on each side;
    7) Animals:
    a) Name - Tuas Veterinary Centre Official Opening;
    b) Name - Yio Chu Kang Veterinary Centre Extension Centre;
    c) Name - Poultry;
    d) Hens in spacious wooden coop under house;
    e) Feeding time for hens in coops;
    f) Dark cocks and brown hens free range on the ground;

    8) Shop - provision cum wet market - in front of shop various items on display, fresh items in baskets; basket of rambutans;
